EOS will unveil its EOSIO rebrand this week, Yves La Rose, the founder of the EOS Network Foundation, said on his Twitter account on the 16th (local time).
“Last year, the EOS community kicked out Block One (B1) and took control of the network,” said the founder of the EOS Network Foundation. We won a victory against a multibillion-dollar company. In order to rebuild EOS, Block One was urgently needed to be removed, but the question of who would handle EOSIO’s code was also raised.
“At present, EOSIO’s intellectual property rights (IP) are owned by Bullish, a subsidiary of Block One, but the community cannot move forward without IP. This is why hard forks and rebranding are needed.
“A hard fork will be held on September 21st (local time) through the Mandel 3.1 Consensus upgrade. Through this hard fork, Block One will be completely removed from the EOS community.
Meanwhile, according to the domestic EOS community KOREOS, the name and token symbol of the network will not change during the EOSIO rebranding.
