My Real Trip (CEO Lee Dong-gun), which runs a travel super app, acquired Star Trip, which provides information on travel destinations related to K-content and operates reservation services.
In March, MyReal Trip acquired I-A-Trip, a startup that runs the kids’ travel platform “Donkey,” and is expanding its business by making strategic investments in “Office Jeju,” which operates shared accommodation and offices for Jeju Worship.
Founded in 2020, Starrip provides multilingual services to foreign travelers with information on more than 10,000 Korean tourist destinations that appeared in K-content, including drama filming locations, cafes visited by stars, and music video filming locations. In particular, it is drawing attention by providing information on places related to K-content by giving related stories such as “BTS music video filming location” and “BLACKPINK’s regular restaurant.”
My Real Trip will continue to increase K-content and add service languages after acquiring Starrip so that more foreign fans can actively use Starrip.
Lee Dong-gun, CEO of MyReal Trip, said, “Korea’s K-content, including music, dramas, and movies, has gained worldwide popularity, and its cultural status in the global market has completely changed,” adding, “I am confident that the number of foreign travelers who want to experience K-content will explode in the post-COVID-19 era.”
