Mersey, a realistic social media company, held a “MOSS 2022” event at Novotel Ambassador Hotel in Gangnam, Seoul on the 28th and announced the launch of a next-generation social media service.
The event, which invited more than 200 people, including affiliates in the distribution and entertainment sector, was held in the order of △ Introduction of Merit App Service △ Introduction of Partner’s Meritability Service △ Technology Demonstration △ Future Service Plan.
At the event, Myung Bae-young, CEO of Mergerity, demonstrated Mergerity’s technology to enhance and create augmented reality (AR) content on real objects and draw pictures to make them move alive as three-dimensional characters.
The Mergerity app implements AR social media by utilizing MergerWare core engines that Mergerity owns independent patents. Users can freely leave and share objects and spaces in front of them as AR contents and sell their own contents. It expands the two-dimensional experience of existing social media, which used to take place only online, from reality to three-dimensional and four-dimensional.
Mergerity is focusing its efforts on research and development (R&D) through professional organizations and development personnel that study AR image processing, artificial intelligence, and metaverse. In addition, it has recently strengthened its business base by attracting 20 billion won worth of Series A investment.
CEO Myung Bae-young said, “It is an honor to be able to disclose the Merit service envisioned and developed for a long time,” adding, “We will create a world where anyone in the world can easily create and communicate AR contents, regardless of age and nationality, and Merit will lead the market.”
“We have completed about 80-90% of the current service,” he said. “In the near future, we will be able to experience next-generation social media services.”
Meanwhile, Mergerity plans to launch an open beta test (OBT) in Korea in December this year and start its business in earnest by participating in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2023) in Las Vegas next January.
